Abstract
Objective : To evaluate the clinico pathological significance of intratumoral vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF ) and microvessel density ( MVD ) expression in human colorectal carcinoma. Methods : A study including 86 postoperative colorectal carcinoma patients was done,and expression level of VEGF and the MVD were examined with immunohistochemical method. Results : The expression rate of VEGF was 62.8 % . The MVD was significantly related with the expression level of VEGF . VEGF was significantly related with the lymph node and live metastasis,infiltrative depth ( P 0.05 ) , but it was not significantly related with histology type and tumor position ( P 0.05).Conclusion:VEGF is excreted by tumor cells, and had an important effect in course of colorectal carcinoma growth and metastasis.
