Abstract
The color reaction of 3-[(2-arsonophenyl)azo]-6-[(4,6-dibromo-2-nitrophenyl)azo]-4,5-dihydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic(abbreviated as DBONAA) with Pd(Ⅱ) was studied, and a new spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace palladium was established. The color reagent reacts sensitively with Pd(Ⅱ) to form a stable pink complex(1∶2) in a medium of HCl at pH 3.0.The maximum absorption wavelength and apparent molar absorptivity are 566 nm and 1.79×10~5 L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1) respectively.Beer's law is obeyed in the rang of 0~1.8 μg/mL for Pd(Ⅱ).The method has been applied to the determination of trace palladium with satisfactory results.
