Abstract

Study on hexavalent chromium adsorption using activate carbon prepared by bagasse which was modified with soaking in 20% zinc chloride solution was conducted.Influences of activate carbon dosage,PH value, adsorption time, initial concentration and temperature on the adsorption were studied in this paper. Results showed that the removal efficiency of hexavalent chromium in wastewater could reach to 99.9% and the maximum adsorption capacity was 16.656 mg/g under the conditions that Hexavalent chromium concentration was 50 mg/L,adsorbent dosage was 3 g/L,pH was 2,adsorption temperature was 50 ℃,adsorption time was 45 minutes. The adsorption process could be described by Langmuir,Freundlich,Temkin isotherm equations and two adsorption rate equation.
