Abstract
Effects of solution and aging processing on microstructure and tensile properties of a new type of high strength and high toughness titanium alloy for damage tolerance(Ti-62A) were discussed.The experimental results show that typical microstructure of the alloy inα/βsolution and aging is basket-like microstructure(the strip ofαphase andβchanges structure).After the thermal mechanical processing,the comprehensive mechanical properties of the alloy are excellent.The tensile strength of alloy is 1 185 MPa,and the yield strength is 1 100 MPa with a good plasticity.
