Abstract

Objective:To investigate the relation between expression of Bcl-2,Bax and eosinophils(Eos) apoptosis, explore effect of Bcl-2 and Bax on asthma. Methods:Guinea pigs were divided into normal and asthmatic group randomly. Ovalbumin was used to prepare model of asthma in guinea pig. Apoptosis of Eos in BALF was detected.mRNA expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in Eos were measured by hybridization and RT-PCR.Results:Comparing with normal group,Eos in BALF from asthmatic group were significantly higher; the percentage of apoptotic Eos from asthmatic group were significantly lower( P 0.01);Expression of Bcl-2 was higher, Bax was lower in asthmatic guinea pig BALF Eos. Conclusion: There are inhibited apoptosis in eosinophils of guinea pig with asthma, which is one of the reasons that increase the number of Eos in asthma. Expression of increasd Bcl-2, and decreased Bax in asthmatic Eos. Suggest that Bcl-2 and Bax might be involved in the pathogenesis of asthma.
