On the Relationships Between Graphic Forms Meanings and Original Meanings of theInscription on Oracle Bones

Abstract

Integrating the meaningful parts of Chinese characters reflects the meanings of graphic forms. Original meanings are the acceptations which people want to express as forming Chinese characters. In this article, according to the inscription on oracle bones, we will analyse the direct and indirect relationships between the meanings of graphic forms and original meanings.Then we will offer several principles of deciding original meanings.
