SEDIMENTARY SEQUENCE AND THE SEA LEVEL CHANG- ING OF CARBOMFEROUS IN TARIM REGION

Based on the study of the ground surface geology and the drilling data of the Carboniferoous in Tarim basin. It summerized the different sedimentary sequences and litho-facees formed under 4 typical envi- ronments. The different sedimentary sequences were formed in the different region in the basin, due to the different local sediment conditions (such as the depty of water, supply of continental dastic rock source, pale- o-climate). The different sequences reflect the different cycle of regreation or transgreation .Combining with the biographical data, four of third grade cycle of transgreation-regreation. Which indicates that th ere were 4times of sea level change. during Carboniferous in Tarim .Since there was a uplifling occured in the end stage of Carboniferous in local region. There only developed 3 uncomplete regreation-transgreation sedimentary sequences.
