Some questions deserving consideration in the study of grammaticalization in Chinese

Abstract
Focusing on the grammaticalization of the structural particle de, this paper considers the following questions that need attention in the study of grammaticalization in Chinese: 1. Aspects of how to define grammaticalization; 2. The necessity to inherit the traditional approach, i.e. the study must consider both form and meaning; 3. Meaning constraints and the generic meanings of form words; 4. The relationship of grammaticalization to valence; and 5. Catering for dialect facts in the study of grammaticalization.
