Abstract

Objective:Ambulatory arterial stiffness index(AASI)is a novel arterial stiffness measure,This article aims to explore the relationship between AASI and microalbuminuria. Methods:The enrolled were 120 patients with hypertension who underwent 24h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, microalbuminuria, blood glucose, plasma cholesterol examinations from Jan.2009 to Feb.2010.120 patients were divided into two groups according to the MAU level.88 patients were normoalbuminuria group,32 patients were MAU group. Results:Linear regression showed that AASI correlated positively with microalbuminuria in the whole cohort(r=0.432,P0.05).Conclusion:Our study suggested that AASI was an estimate of arterial stiffness measure through 24h ambulatory monitoring data, and correlated with microalbuminuria.AASI had some relationship with blood pressure circadian rhythm.
