SU Dongpo's understanding of Buddhist outlook of life can generalized as his insight into Buddhism. His insight into Buddhism is a kind of non- secular standpoint. Though SU Dongpo suffered a lot in his lifetime, yet he coulg transcend Buddhist outlook of life, which shows that Buddhism had really had a positive effect on SU Dongpo.
