On Philosophical Character

Abstract
Different from philosophical characteristic,philosophical spirit and philosophical temperament,philosophical character is generalized as a kind of common and steady mental qualities and behavior patterns shown by the philosophical community,which embodies itself in such elements,in cognition,as prudent inclination of speculation,steadfast will to truth,strong sense of originality,rational spirit of critique,and such elements,in practice,as positive attitude of existence and sublime ideal of life.These elements are interrelated and interactive.Philosophical character plays an indispensable role in promoting the realm of life and of learning and in cultivating the humanist spirit.
