Abstract
Based on the study of three pilot Ecological Garden Cities,including Yang Zhou,Shou Guang and Chang Shu,the paper explores and analyzes the problems in the current practices in the building of national garden cities.Perspectives are taken from perspectives of both 1) quality and quantity,2) social benefits and economical efficiency,and 3) spatial role and contents of green space construction. The paper also discusses conservation-oriented green space provision and ecological landscape projects.At the end,the importance of ecological authenticity and materiality of the building of Ecological Garden Cities are point out.
