Abstract
Light-weight steel structures become quite sensitive to wind load owing to light, thin and flexible main components and cladding components. Therefore the state-of-the-art and the related achievements on wind-resistant design of light-weight steel structures, both nationally and internationally, are systematically reviewed including wind-resistant load-carrying system, the mechanism of the wind-induced damage, the equivalent static wind load, the calculation of wind load,wind-resistant design of light-weight wall and roof system. Finally, the main existing problems and further researches are given out, which can provide references for research on wind-resistant design of light-weight steel structures.
