Plasma B-type natriuretic peptide levels of coronary sinus and perpheral vein in stable coronary artery disease

Abstract

Objective:To assess the plasma BNP levels of coronary sinus versus peripheral vein in stable coronary artery disease(CAD) and investigate the association between the BNP level and stenosis of coronary artery.Methods:All recruited patients underwent echocardiographic examination,and selective coronary angiography was performed.Plasma levels of BNP were measured in 43 patients with stable CAD,22 patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS),and 22 cases without coronary artery disease(control group).The data of subjects were collected and analysed.Results:The data showed:(1)BNP levels of coronary artery sinus were no significantly different from that of perpheral vein for all subjects(P0.05);(2)ACSs group had significantly higher BNP values compared with stable CAD and control group(P0.01);(3)Plasma BNP level of coronary artery sinus in patients with stable CAD was higher than that of control group(P0.05);(4)The higher plasma BNP level was associated with the more severity of coronary artery stenosis(P0.05).Conclusion:Plasma BNP level is associated with a more severity of coronary artery disease.
