Abstract
Objective: To study the effect of quercetin combined with cisplatin(DDP) on the proliferation and apoptosis of cervical cancer HeLa cells. Methods: HeLa cells were incubated in vitro with DDP,quercetin respectively at different concentrations,or quercetin + DDP for 24 hours. The cell proliferation was evaluated by MTT assay, the rate of cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry, and the nucleolus morphologic changes were observed by laser scanning confocal microscope after PI staining. Results: Quercetin could inhibit the proliferation of HeLa cells in a dose-dependent manner.Compared with cisplatin group, quercetin + cisplatin significantly inhibited the proliferation of HeLa cells(P0.01),and increased the rate of cell apoptosis(P0.05).Conclusion: Quercetin, especially combined with cisplatin, can significantly inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis of cervical cancer cells.
