Abstract
The bioactivity of Lufenuron on experimental population of Helcoverpa armigera(Hubner) in the laboratory were carried out.The results showed that Lufenuron displayed good anti-feedant activity on 3rd instar larvae and high ovicidal activity on 1-day eggs of Helcoverpa armigera(Hubner),the anti-feeding rates of 10 mg/kg and eggs mortality rates of 50 mg/L were over 95.04% and 87.59%;LC50 of stomach poisoning and contact poisoning of 2nd instar larvae were 0.743 4 and 12.369 6 mg/L with leaf and body dipping method 96 h after treatment, respectively,Lufenuron showed that higher stomach activity was approximately 17 times of contact activity. The inhibition of the growth and development of cotton bollworm after treated with Lufenuron in diets were investigated. The larval and pupal period were elongated, and the ratios of survival, pupation, emergence, oviposition numbers of female, and egg hatch ability decreased, unhealthy pupa and adult rates also increased.
