Abstract

As the capacity of doubly-fed induction generator(DFIG) based large wind farms keep increasing, the pen-etration of wind power in the power system raises gradually. In order to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the power system,it is important to enhance the low voltage ride-through(LVRT) performance of DFIG.The technical rules of LVRT for connecting wind farm into power grid are discussed. The transient characteristic of DFIG under grid voltage sag fault and the main points of implementing LVRT are analyzed. Then, the existed LVRT technologies for DFIG based wind farm are summarized. In the end,the further LVRT issues are discussed.
