Paralinguistic features of English intonation and utterance interpretation

Abstract

Human communication is a complicated process.English intonation is a kind of paralinguistic form.Different intonation transfers different information and utterance meaning,and expresses different attitude and emotion,which has special communicative function and value.This essay mainly discusses the paralinguistic features of English intonation,hoping to help students understand the utterance function of intonation correctly and infer the utterance implication.
