Study on the Present Situation of Community Health Service in Guangzhou City

OBJECTIVES To know the present situation of Community Health Service(CHS)in Guangzhou City and provide development strategies. METHODS Questionnaires survey was taken in investigating all the community health service centers in Guangzhou City. RESULTS 123 community health service centers were investigated,the mean building areas of 105 community health service centers(18 of the 123 centers not given the data of house building) was 1 907 square meters,and 34 centers’house building area was less than 2 000 square meters. For 123 centers,the proportion of the staff graduated from colleges and technical secondary school were 32.70%, 40.00% respectively,and about 27.30% of them had received university or master degree. For 123 centers,the proportion of staffs of senior,medium,junior and no professional title was 5.10%, 19.00%,58.90% and 17.0% respectively. The proportion of received clinical treatment service and public health service in total number serviced by 123 centers was 95.50%,4.50%. CONCLUSIONS The basic network of CHS in Guangzhou City had been set up,its’service function gradually improved,but some problems still existed as follows: the low proportion of business real-estate which meet standard,the low proportion of higher education staff,low-level professional titles,public health services leave much to be desired.
