Sociological Consideration on College Physical Education Promoting Students' Socialization Process

An individual is undergoing the socialization process in his or her important periods of life,learning something new and fitting into the world. One of the important periods is being at college or university,the last period of time for students to be educated regularly and precious time to experience the socialization process. Therefore,to help students integrate themselves into society when they are in college and university is not only an important educational issue but also a current sociological one. This paper first elaborates the concept of socialization and the contents of socialization according to the theory of sociology of physical education,and then,according to the function physical education performs in individuals 'socialization process,puts forward suggestions for facilitating sound development of students' psychology and speeding up their socialization process. These suggestions include teaching of physical education,sports matches and cultivation of sports culture.
