Abstract
China is the hometown of the dragon dancing exercise. The dragon plays an important role in the Chinese culture and for thousands of years it has penetrated into Chinese society and become a kind of cultural cohesion and accumulation. Meanwhile, dragon dancing is one of the main events of traditional Chinese sports. Dragon is the spirit and symbol of the Chinese nation; it is the power of the united Chinese nation. Dragon dancing is entertainable, hence it is popular with people. Therefore, it should be popularized in mass sports. The paper proposes that dragon dancing should be taught at primary and high schools and different levels should be established to promote the development through competition. Besides, it should be developed in the form of clubs and rely on social support so as to enhance the overall physique and health of the Chinese nation and form a bodybuilding system with Chinese characteristics.
