Diagnosis and treatment of isolated sphenoid sinus lesions(12 case reports attatched)

Objective To explore the clinical features of the disease of isolated sphenoid sinus and improve the ability of diagnosis and treatment.Mechods The clinical data of 12 cases suffering from isolated sphenoid sinus lesions were analyzed retrospectively and the correlated documents reviewed.Results All the 12 cases were preoperatively diagnosed by CT,MRI,and intranasal endoscopy.The postoperative pathology showed 7 cases with sphenoid sinustis,2 cases with submucous cystis,3 cases with mycosis.All the 12 cases were cured.Conclusion CT,MRI and diagnostic nasal endoscopic procedures can greatly improve the ability of diagnosis of isolated sphenoid sinus.Nasal endoscopic surgery is a safe and effective method for the disease of isolated sinus.
