The analysis of normal women uterus appearance imaging using contrast-enhanced ultrasound

Objective To discuss the uterus blood perfusion characteristics of normal women of child-bearing age.Methods Forty-one cases were examined with real-time contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)and the perfusion process was observed.The contrast agent was given intravenously,the perfusion analysis of the myometrium,cervix and endometrium was performed.The time-intensity curves in the three parts were analyzed by a quantification software.Results CEUS clearly showed the enhancement of contrast agent within the uterus:the contrast washed in from peripheral to the central part of uterus,the uterine anterior and posterior wall and cervix appeared synchronous enhancement,the endometrium enhanced later.The washing out mode of perfusion of uterus appeared contrarily:the contrast in endometrium washed out more quickly than that in myometrium and cervix.The quantitative analysis of the time-intensity curves showed that:The arrival time for the myometrium,cervix and endometrium were(12.08±2.08)s,(11.98±1.91)s and(16.54±2.48)s,respectively.The peak time for the myometrium,cervix and endometrium were(20.64±3.10)s,(21.48±2.93)s and(24.86±3.71)s,respectively.The peak intensity for the myometrium,cervix and endometrium were(28.20±5.5),(26.38±5.70)and(24.21±7.35)respectively.The value of AT and TTP had significantly statistical differences between myometrium,cervix and endometrial(t=8.249,8.422,4.691,5.861,P0.01).There were significant statistical differences in the peak intensity between myometrium and endometrial(t=1.656,P=0.024).No significant differences were found in the other parameters among the three groups(t=0.173,1.170,1.944,3.600,all P0.05).Conclusion CEUS successfully displayed the normal characteristics of adult uterine perfusion,the preliminary results of the study provides quantitative parameters,which could be helpful for the further research of uterus disease.
