Abstract
Objective To study the changes and significance of TGF-β 1 and α-SMA in experimental hepatic fibrosis. Methods The immuno-injury hepatic fibrosis model was made with intraperitoneal injection of porcine serum into rats. The positive expressions of TGF-β 1 and α-SMA were measured with immunohistochemical method. Results The contents of TGF-β 1 and α-SMA was enhanced promptly and obviously during the experimental hepatic fibrosis. Conclusions The changes of TGF-β 1 can reflect the degree of hepatic fibrosis and can indicate some clinical significance in identifying the activation of the liver fibrosis . α-SMA was expressed by activated Ito cell. The activated Ito cells are the collagen producing cells during the fibrogenesis.
