Abstract

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of levocetirizine and ranitidine in treatment of chronic urticaria. Methods:A randomly comparative study was conducted. The patients were randomly divided into two groups:receiving levocetirizine (5 mg,once daily) and ranitidine (150 mg,twice daily) in study group or levocetirizine (5 mg,once daily) in control for two weeks.Results:116 patients completed the trial, including 59 cases in levocetirizine and ranitidine group and 57 cases in levocetirizine group. The effective rates of the two groups were 91.5% and 73.7%.The effective rate of levocetirizine and ranitidine group is significantly higher than that of levocetirizine group (P0.05).Conclusion:Levocetirizine and ranitidine is effective and safe for treatment of chronic urticaria.
