Abstract
Based on the investigation data of Study on Health State of the Elderly in Shaanxi Rural Areas under the Background of Children Migrant for Work conducted in Shaanxi Province in 2010,the influence of social activities on ability of daily living of the elderly was analyzed.The results showed that there is remarkable positive correlation between two indexes of the elderly participating in social activities and daily living activities ability.Those who social activities are relatively rich have better ability of daily living than those who social activities are relatively monotonous.The individual's age,education level,marital status,economic status and chronic disease also have effects on the elderly' s ability of daily living to a certain extent,and the elderly with a lower age,a spouse and better economic status,but without any chronic disease,have better ability of daily living.
