Abstract
Bacterial culture test is the gold standard for diagnosis of Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection. However, very weak resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae often leads to culture failure.Detection of bacterial morphology only means limited significance for diagnosis of Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection. With antibiotic-resistance increasing for Neisseria gonorrhoeae,multi-resistant bacteria have appeared and are spreading.Simple molecular biology techniques with high sensitivity and high specificity, such as single tube multiplex polymerase chain reaction(PCR),have been applied for laboratory diagnosis of Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection and have shown encouraging results.
