Comparative Study of Ciralopram and Venlafaxine in the Treatment of depression

Abstract

Objective:To explore clinical efficacy and safely of Citalopram and Venlafaxine in the treatment of depression.Methods:sixty eight patients with depression were treated randomly with Citalopram or Venlafaxine for six weeks,and measured with Hamilton depressive Scale(HAMD),Hamilton anxiety Scale(HAMA) and treatment emergent Symptom Scale(TESS) before treatment and 1,2,4,6 weeks after treatment.Results: The both drugs were similar in efficacy.The side effects of both were less.Conclusions: Citalopram and Venlafaxine are both effective and Sate antidepressants.
