COMPARSION THE EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF RADIOFREQUENCY ABLATION AND MICROWAVE ABLATION FOR ELDERLY HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA PATIENTS

Objective to compare the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency ablation and microwave ablation for elderly patients,and provide clinical treatment advice for clinical doctors.Method Selected the patients who receieved RFA or PMCT from January 2004 to June 2012 in department of minimally invasive,Eastern hepatobilliary Surgery Hospital.The characteristic of patients,overall survival rates and disease-free survival rates were compared.Results The 1,2,3 year overall survival rates after radiofrequency ablation were 95.7%,89.3%,46.4%.The 1,2,3 year overall survival rates after microwave ablation were 83.7%,74.8%,51.1% respectively.There is no significantly difference between two groups.The 1,2,3 year disease-free survival rates after adiofrequency ablation were 90.9%,60.6%,40.4%.The 1,2,3 year overall survival rates after microwave ablation were 83.7%,74.8%,51.1% respectively.There is no significantly difference between two groups.The common complication after radiofrequency or microwave was pain and fever.Conclusion Microwave ablation treatment might be a safe and effective in elderly patients,as well as radiofrequency ablation.
