Abstract
Objective To evaluate the function of the expression of T cell activation antigens such as CD154 and CD69 in the immune pathogentic mechanism of idiopathic or Immune Thrombocytopenic(ITP) in children. Methods The percentages of CD4+T cells expressing CD154 and CD69 in peripheral blood of 28 ITP patients in comparison to 30 healthy controls were determined by two colour flow cytometry. Results The expressions of CD154(16.7%±8.1%) and CD69(13.9%±7.1%) on CD4+T cells in ITP were much higher than that of healthy controls. Conclusions All these results showed that there were high expressions of CD154 and CD69 on CD 4+T cells indicating the CD4+T cell were activated in ITP.
