Abstract
The frost heave problems of the subgrade are among the most encountered geo-hazards in the construction of high-speed-rail in alpine seasonal frozen soil area.This paper presents the frost heave mechanism of high-speed-rail subgrade in the seasonal frozen soils.The problems that exist in the current frost heave design practices are also discussed.Factors that affect the magnitude of the frost heave as well as their mitigation measures are also presented.
