Abstract
Objective To probe into the diagnosis and treatmeat of Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis (XGC). Method The clinical data of 24 patients with XGC diagnosed definitely by pathological examination were summrazed and analysed. Results The 24 patients with XGC were found in 850 suffered to cholecystectomies(2.5%) in our hospital. All the patients were examined with B-ultrasound and re-examined with CT.Preoperative diagnosis was XGC in 7 cases and gallbladder carcinoma in 8 cases. In all patients xanthogranulomatous tissue was found its invading into other tissue in operation.Among the patiens 20 were diagnosed definitely by freezing-pathological examination.Alone cholecystectomy was performed in 12 casesin addition to cholecystectomy,5 cases were suffered to exploratory choledo-chostomy and T-tube drainage,2 cases to greater partial gastrectomy,4 cases to partial liver wedge resection beneath gallbladder bed and lymph node clearing in liver duodenum ligament,1 case to greater partial cholecystectomy and hepatic segment resection. Conclusions XGC is a rare and special type of chronic cholecystitis, which is difficult to be diagnosed preoperatively. It is liable to be confused with cholecyst carcinoma in reflection photograph test.Definite diagnosis depends on pathological examination. Cholecystectomy is basic procedure for the disease, and good result could be anticipated in almost patients.
