Abstract
The corner cracks of 150 mm by 150 mm continuous casting slabs were analyzed by way of examining the macro-structures, inclusions and metallographic structures of testing sample and it was found that the primary cause to the corner cracking is seriously inhomogeneous cooling conditions, which lead to stress concentration in the corner part of the slab, thus the corner cracking occurs in the slab.To combat this malfunction proper counter-measures have been advanced.
