Abstract

According to previous and current division standard of gold deposit type, in combination with the mineralization characteristics of the eastern Xinjiang, the gold deposits in the eastern Tianshan mountains could be divided into 6 genetic types or 8 industrial types, i.e., shear-zone type or orogenic type, epithermal type, magmatic hydrothermal vein type, porphyry type, silicon hat (hot spring) type and Ag-Au type of deposits hosted in Precambrian strata and so on. Correlative research reveals the existence of seven gold mineralization belts, i.e., Dananhu-Sanchakou porphyry type ore belt, the Kangguertage-Huangshan shear zone type ore belt, the Mazhuangshan-Nanjinshan epithermal type Au ore belt, the Yuxi-Qianluzi ore belt (greenschist rock hosted vein Ag-Au,Pb-Zn type), the Jinwozi-Zhaobishan and Yiredaban-Hongshan intrusion-related hydrothermal ore belts, the Tousuquan - Talin shear zone and silicon-hat type ore belt. The characteristics of gold deposits, variations and exploration potentials are further discussed.
