Experience of small pupil cataract surgery.

Abstract
Objective To observe the surgical effect of cataract with small pupil.Methods On 27 eyes of 26 cases of cataract with small pupil,opend up small pupil with viscoelatstic and flexible iris retractor to perform phacoemulsification.Results All cases were done successfully continuous circular capsulorhexis and phacoemulsification.Posterior capsule ruptured in 1 eye(3.7%),corneal edema appeared in 6 eyes(22.22%) and it disappeard in 3 to 6 days.Conclusions Using viscoelatstic and flexible iris retractor for small pupil enlargement was a simple and efficient technique without sphincter injury.It can keep the circle pupil with few complications.
