Abstract
The change of Chinese aesthetics at the turn of the century is based on the observation and assessment of the nature of aesthetics as a branch of learning.The study of the aesthetics has touched upon two points:1.Aesthetics is the third branch(e.g.humanities)which is different from natural science and social sciences.2.The purpose for the existence of aesthetics is not to offer a body of knowledge or a general law of nature,society or human life,but to ponder what life means or human values,and offer humanistic intelligence.The scientific definition of aesthetics has brought about the changes of aesthetic study from standardization approach to methodology approach and the unprecedented humanistic spirit has been put into Chinese aesthetics to make it more realistic.
