Abstract

Traffic congestion is becoming a restriction of metropolitan sustainable development. This paper analyzes the cause of traffic congestion. On this basis,it is proposed that traffic demand management(TDM) should be applied to relieve traffic congestion.Constructive measures are then suggested for implementing TDM in China.
