Abstract
Objective To analyses the diagnosis and treatment of testicular torsion.Methods The clinical data of 46 cases of testicular torsion were retrospectively analysed.Results Among the 46 cases,19(41.3%)were diagnosed with testicular torsion and the others(58.7%)were misdiagnosed at the first medical visit,respectively.14(30.4%)cases were treated within 6 hours,11 cases(23.9%)between 6 to 12 hours and 21cases(45.7%)over 12 hours,respectively.Surgical exploration were performed in all cases,the number of orchiectomy was 30(65.2%)and testicular detorsion and orchiopexy was 16(34.8%),respectively.At the same time,prophylactic orchiopexy of the contralateral testis were performed in all cases.43(93.5%)patients were diagnosed by color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI).41 patients were followed up for 6 months to 12 years,and no patient experienced recurrent testicular torsion.Conclusion CDFI has a great value in diagnosis of testicular torsion.Earlier diagnosis of testicular torsion is especial important,and surgical exploration should be performed timely to prevent testicular loss.Prophylactic orchiopexy of the contralateral testis is recommended.
