Abstract
Firstly, the advantages of USB bus is briefly discussed in this paper. Then the architecture and components of the Data Sampling System with USB interface are introduced. The USB protocol is analyzed in terms of its hiberarchy, the function of each level, data structure used in the USB protocol. And then Windows OS and WDM(Windows Driver Model) are analyzed. There are two work modes in the OS: Kernel Mode and User Mode. Then how the two modes work together is introduced and an example is given to show the work flow of the USB driver. The design and development of the USB driver is shown using our own driver as an example. How to select a development environment and how to use that are analyzed. Then the application and how to call the driver are introduced. Finally, the speed of the transfer is described.
