Abstract

The political power of the late Ming and the early Qing Dynasties alternated,which could not place restrictions on foreign trade. Because of the better and thorough understanding of business and foreign trade,merchants' social status had been definiately improved during this period. Products made in China attracted many consumers on the overseas markets so that many countries had a strong desire to carry out trade with China. It was no doubt that products from China were always in constant demand at that time. On the basis of the great development of trade between Fujian and Japan and the sufficient goods supplies,their co-operation played a quite dominant role in Asia.
