Abstract

Esterase isozyme of seedings, flag leaves and young spikes from 28 accessions of indigenous wheat to China was analysed. The result shows the specialties of esterase isozyme in different tissues. There are 10 bands and 8 zymogram types of esterase isozyme in seedings, 15 bands and 7 types in flag leaves, 18 bands and 20 types in young spikes. Based on these results, it is concluded that esterase isozyme of young spikes have abundant variation and high genetic diversity between different accessions. Cluster analysis suggests that Yunnan wheat is genetically closly related to Tibet semi wild wheat, while Xinjiang wheat is genetically distantly related to them.
