Interface Design of Six-channel Synchronous ADC and MSP430

Abstract

This paper put forward a new ADC application that used real hardware synchronous A /D converter chip AD7656 to form a multi-channel synchronous data acquisition circuit. The interface program design with current popular MSP430 MCU was given. The interface features and main function of six-channels simultaneous sampling A / D converter AD7656 were analyzed. Taking MSP430 microcontroller as an example,the interface circuit of AD7656 and MSP430 microcontroller was designed. After analyzing the performance characteristic and interface of MSP430 MCU,two methods of interface program design of hardware SPI interface and software-emulated SPI interface were fully discussed. The corresponding software flowcharts were given. It is an important reference for various types of synchronous sampling circuit using AD7656 and MSP430 MCU.
