Abstract
Based on water resources ecological footprint model,combined water resources ecological surplus,water resources ecological pressure index,water resources utilization efficiency index and water resources sustainable index,this paper analyzes the variation trend of water resources ecological footprint and the situation of water resources sustainable utilization from 2000 to 2011 year in Dongguan City. The results show that from 2000 to 2011 year,the water resources per capita ecological footprint appears upward trend,and water resources per capita carrying capacity appears downward trend on the whole. So,water resources ecological surplus reduced gradually,and the ecological deficit appeared. The development utilization of water resources was unsustainable in Dongguan City.
