Transition crisis and urban planning countermeasures of the outskirts' rural area of Guangzhou

This article briefly looks back to the urbanization of the outskirts of Guangzhou since the reform and opening-up,and probes into the existing problems and characteristics of the development of these regions.It points out that in the context of continuous expansion of cities and a policy of promoting coordinated development of both urban and areas,this article studies a series of crises experienced by China's traditional areas,such as the erosion of space by cities,a diminishing sense of identity,lack of autonomy,and higher risks.To cope with these problems,urban planning should start valuing urban and areas equally,and establish some village reserves. It's also suggested that a three-layered structure constituted by downtown areas,newly urbanized areas and reserved areas should be applied as a guideline for the protective development of areas.Moreover,this article also suggests that rural area green way should be used as a start point to realize the coordination of ecology and optimize urban and transport network and other public services so as to promote the development.
