On the Context Principle in Language Communication

To carry on our language communication successfully, we need to comprehend and grasp it’s meaning exactly, and abide by some certain principle commonly. H. P. Grice and Leech respectively put forward the cooperative principle and politeness principle, which should be abided in people’s language communication. However, it is necessary to point out that it is not enough to have the only two principles. In order to comprehend the true meaning of natural language, we should need a new principle——context principle to make up the shortage of the cooperative principle and the politeness principle.
