Abstract
Currently, biosorption is one of the most promising technologies in the treatment of waste water containing heavy metals, and is especially effective in the treatment of waste water containing 1~100 mg/L of heavy metals. The mechanism of biosorption and the adsorption characteristics of different microorganisms with heavy metals are introduced in a detailed way, the various factors affecting biosorption process is discussed, and a forecast of the orientation of the development of biosorption of heavy metals is made finally.
