Abstract
Sedimentary system and distribution features of early Tertiary in Liaohe tidal zone are studied by using seismic stratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy, and logging sedimentology. As a result, 6 major sedimentary systems are i-dentified, which are flood plain, fan-delta, braided river delta, delta, sublacustrine fan and lake facies. Oil exploration practice shows that the most important reservoir sands of this area developed in sedimentary systems of delta, fan-delta and flood plain. Sands developed in sublacustrine fan system are potential reservoir rocks with prospective exploration future.
