Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the prevalence of renal artery stenosis of selective renal angiography in patients undergoing coronary angiography, and to identify relative factors for renal artery stenosis. Method:Selective renal angiography was performed immediately in patients after coronary angiography,by univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis between clinic data and renal artery stenosis.Result: Selective renal angiography was performed immediately in 377(93.8%) patients after coronary angiography, 71 patients (18.8%)of renal artery stenosis,39 patients(10.4%) of insignificant (50% diameter narrowing)stenosis,32 patients(8.4%) of significant (50% diameter narrowing)stenosis,17 patients(4.5%) of bilateral stenosis. By univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis ,the association of clinic variables with renal artery stenosis was assessed.Univariable predictors included hypertension, diabetes mellitus, age, renal insufficiency, significant coronary artery disease, corotid artery plaque were identified as risk factors of renal artery stenosis. Multivariate included hypertension, age, significant coronary artery disease was identified as independent predictors of renal artery stenosis. Conclusion:Renal artery stenosis is a frequent finding in patients undergoing coronary angiography, especially in older people with hypertention , significant coronary artery disease. Those patients should be routinely performed selective renal angiography undergoing coronary angiography to identify renal artery stenosis in early.
