System of Evaluating Bus Rapid Transit Program Based on Simulation by Vissim

Abstract

Under the background of public transport priority,bus rapid transit system(BRT) becomes the first choice to effectively solve the traffic problems in many cities.The rational and effective implementation of bus rapid transit system is very essential.In this paper,the rapid transit evaluation system for bus rapid transit program based on microscopic traffic simulation software Vissim was proposed.Then,the key indexes' calculation methods and significance of evaluation system were described from three aspects including the system's line,station and bus lane.Finally,an example of BRT was described.The simulation analysis shows that the evaluation system has good feasibility and great guiding significance for optimizing the BRT program.
