Abstract
With the use of HPLC the phenolic acids secretion of cherry root was seperated. The allelopathic effects of phenolic acids secretion on root were studied preliminarily with lettuce seeds and sweet cherry in vitro plantlet as materials. The results showed that nine phenolic acids including P-hydroxybenzoic acid were separated from cherry root exudates. The intensity of allelopathic effect on germination of lettuce seeds enhanced with the increase of phenolic acids addition.30 μL phenolic acids promoted radicle growth and germination, while the phenolic acids addition exceeding 60 μL would have inhibitive effect. The treatment of P-hydroxybenzoic acid could obviously prompt the seeding and root growth of cherry plantlet. The weight of stem and leaf under 0.100 mmol·L-1 P-hydroxybenzoic acid treatment was the heaviest, and the number of roots under 0.500 mmol·L-1 P-hydroxybenzoic acid treatment was the most. The activity of SOD,POD and CAT enhanced with the increase of P-hydroxybenzoic acid concentration, and the enzyme activity declined under high concentration.Cinnamon acid treatment had the similar results with P-hydroxybenzoic acid treatment, but the intensity of allelopathic effects were different from P-hydroxybenzoic acid.
